August is that month of the year that kind of just sneaks up on you. After the St-Jean Baptiste and Canada Day celebrations, summer gets rolling and then next thing you know – it’s August. Don’t worry though, there’s still lots of fun to be had in and around the West Island before school starts. Don’t miss Dollard’s ever-popular International Day, Pincourt’s Fireman Day and of course, THE event of the summer: Strangers In the Night.
DDO Family Affair
NEW this year: the event is extended from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. so you can spend the day and have a picnic with your whole family. Don’t miss the face painting, inflatable games, storytime by the library, badminton, food trucks ($), archery tag, sports activities, fire simulator, photobooth, hiking in the forest, beach volleyball and many other activities. Come and meet the different groups that will be present. In case of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday, August 11th.

Hudson Street Fair
The Hudson Street Fair is back for its 23rd year! It’s the largest street fair west of Montreal – visit the 120+ vendors! Bouncy castles, street performers, food zone, music, and more!
When: August 3rd and 4th from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Where: Locations will be throughout the town of Hudson.
Pincourt Fireman’s Day
Firemen’s Day, which is celebrated every second Saturday of August, is the Pincourt annual celebration since 1980. The day’s highlights are without a doubt the traditional parade of emergency and fire trucks, greatly appreciated by kids, the evening concert and the fireworks, acknowledged as being the most spectacular in the region.

26th Nova Charity Golf Tournament
This tournament features a BBQ lunch, a raffle for a chance to win 2 West Jet tickets, a silent auction, a cocktail and a dinner. If you don’t want to golf get a gang together for a cocktail and dinner or sponsor the event! Funds generated will benefit programs supporting in-home cancer, ALS and palliative nursing care.

Big Brothers Big Sisters West Island is proud to present Montreal RibFest, a non-profit charity event that combines the love of great food and great entertainment, all in support of a fantastic cause. Balletvolution & Global Pitou Minou Fundraiser
The time has finally come to formally announce Studio Balletvolution’s August 17th Fundraiser for Animatch Dog Adoption. We have a jam-packed day of activity planned for you!! A dog adoption fair and meet and greet accompanied by a barbecue beginning at 11.30am. We will have raffles featuring prizes from local artisans and commerce. Beginning at 1.00pm, two Studio Balletvolution Dance Fitness Classes beginning with our low impact Balletvolution class suitable for everyone and followed by our popular high-intensity Rock’NBallet class!! Dollard-des-Ormeaux International Day
