The death of a 60-year-old Rivière-Verte man over the weekend was a homicide, RCMP said on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Rino St-Plerre.
St-Pierre was found dead Sunday morning by Saint-Léonard RCMP, who were responding to a report to a report of an unresponsive man on Industrielle Road in Rivière-Verte, near Edmundston.
RCMP called the killing “an isolated incident” and provided no other details.
An autopsy is being carried out to determine the exact cause of death, RCMP said in a press release.
