In a twist of events at the inaugural BravoCon in Las Vegas, reality TV star Ramona Singer was conspicuously absent from the lineup. The star, once a darling on Real Housewives of New York (RHONY), was forced out of the proceedings at the Caesars Forum conference center due to allegations stemming from a racially inappropriate text message she had forwarded to Page Six the previous week.
The contentious text, which Singer had hoped would exonerate her from allegations levelled in a Vanity Fair exposé published on October 30, was unfortunately laden with racial slurs. The exposé had attributed the controversial word’s usage to Singer leading to an uproar that has since marred her career.
The Witch-hunt against Singer, a 66-year-old real estate agent, was incited by the Vanity Fair item which detailed glaring accusations against the star.
Among the accusations was an incident alleging her use of racially insensitive language with a Black crew member during her tenure’s final season (13) on RHONY. Another insinuated a heated confrontation between Singer and fellow cast member Eboni K. Williams, which allegedly ended with Singer letting out a racially insensitive remark. The third pointed out a moment where Singer naively questioned the prevalence of absent fathers in the Black community during a sensitivity training call.
Singer, however, vehemently denies these accusations. Following a joint investigation conducted by Shed Media, Warner Bros. Discovery, Bravo, and NBCUniversal, the accusations against her were deemed “inconclusive,” as per Page Six.
The network subsequently removed Singer from the BravoCon lineup due to her offensive text to Page Six. Singer, initially slated to feature on a panel promoting the new season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, saw her platform grind to a screeching halt.
People Magazine also reports that Singer’s real estate firm Douglas Elliman severed its ties with her amid the controversy.
In an “Ask Andy” panel discussion held at BravoCon on Saturday, Andy Cohen, the host and executive producer of “Real Housewives,” commented on Singer’s situation, saying, “I think the most that I can say is that we already shot Ultimate Girls Trip and she’s on the show, she’s not here, and that’s where we’re at.” Moderator Rachel Lindsay chimed in, saying: “And I’m okay with that,” to which Cohen followed up: “It was the right call.”
