Quebec’s authorities say they will reveal details of the province-wide roll out f immunization passport at a press briefing scheduled for Tuesday.
A communication sent out to media houses stated Monday that Christian Dube will be accompanied by Dr. Yves Jalbert, the public health strategic medical advisor, and Caroline Roy, the advisor to the immunization campaign.
It is expected that the health minister will touch on Quebec’s situation, especially because infection rates have been going up in the past few days.
Premier Francois Legault said last week the province will embrace the immunization passport proposal since Quebec is staring at the fourth wave. He added that some privileges will be granted to those who are fully immunized against COVID-19, which has claimed 11242 Quebecers since the pandemic started and 25 more since July started.
While fatalities and hospitalization have leveled off, the province hasn’t experienced as many cases since last spring. Many of the cases have been reported in persons who haven’t received a single jab or those who have not fully immunized.
