The province of Quebec has reported 579 additional infections since health authorities last issued an update on Saturday. The province has surpassed its streak of reporting of over 600 cases in the last few days.
No fatalities were reported last Sunday.
Of the 579 infections, about 416 are person who have not been immunized or have had only received their first jab less than two weeks before they got COVID-19.
About 76 who showed signs of the virus had had their first dose more than two weeks, while 87 were person who had fully immunized.
The province’s rolling 7-day average now stands at 524 cases each day.
So far, there are 126 person who are currently receiving hospital care, a decrease of 5 from the figure reported previously. Of these, 36 are under intensive care.
Since the last press briefing, the province has issued another 30682 doses, of which 23655 are second doses, while 7027 are first jabs. Health officials say they have immunized nearly 86 percent of the population with the first jab, while 78 percent have had both.
