The Quebec government recently announced that places of worship were given the green light to reopen as of June 22nd. While some congregation members were eager to get back to Sunday mass, many still had doubts.
Father Peter Sabbath, Pastor at St. Thomas à Becket Church in Pierrefonds, decided to resume masses as of July 6th. However, places of worship will look different as they must abide by public health directives. These measures include limited gatherings, mandatory masks, social distancing, a change in the way churchgoers receive communion, and more.
The West Island Blog visited St. Thomas à Becket Church to take a closer look at the safety measures in place. Watch the video report above for the full story.
Very glad to see my churches are opening again and to finally be able to preach the word of God again
Comprehensive video. Very well put together. Great job by Father Peter and his team putting in place the protective measures. I feel that I can resume going to church.
