Quebec, for the first time since September 2020 report fewer than 500 new cases of COVID-19. Quebec reported 477 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 367, 376.
On Saturday, the province reported 772 recoveries from the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 350, 270. According to Quebec Public Health Official, the province has 6, 022 active cases of COVID-19.
The province also reported three deaths on Sunday, one in the past 24 hours and the others on 16th May and 21st May. So far, Quebec has reported 11, 084 deaths due to COVID-19.
Hospitalization has also decreased. Quebec is treating three fewer patients in hospitals. At the moment, there are 421 people receiving care and 103 in ICU.
Quebec vaccination is ongoing including the walk-in COVID-19 vaccination campaign that has enabled young Quebecers to receive a jab. In the past 24 hours, the province administered 83, 871 doses.
Since the beginning of the campaign, 4, 929, 054 Quebecers have received one dose, which is about 54.4 percent of the population. Only 323, 113 people have received the two doses, which is about four percent.
