On Sunday, Quebec reported 960 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total infections right from the start of the pandemic to 358, 134. Quebec Institute of Public Health further added that the province has 8, 519 active cases.
Six people were reported dead due to the virus, one in the past 24 hours and five since 2rd May and 7th May. So far, 10, 987 people have died due to the disease.
Hospitalization in the province is low and few patients are receiving COVID-19 care. Quebec currently has 539 patients in hospitals which is a 6 percent decrease.
Last week, Quebec lowered the vaccination age limit to 40 years and above. So far, the province has vaccinated 3, 718, 074 people with one dose of the vaccine. So far, Quebec has received 4, 119, 439 doses since the campaign began, and 175, 901 people have received both shots.
Eastern Townships region is still reporting the high new cases in the third straight day, 77 new cases, Montreal region though leads with 282 new cases, Monteregie 138 cases, Chaudiere-Appalaches 112 cases, and Quebec City, 62 new cases.
