Quebec officials said Monday that persons wishing to travel but have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and have had their first shot can go for the second injection.

The health ministry stated via a press briefing that they made this decision based on recommendations of the immunization committee, and it is meant to help those who wish to travel.

Those with a previous case of COVID-19 wishing to get the second jab can now be immunized at their local vaccination clinics and designated centers without needing to show a justification.

Ministry officials also said that persons who do not wish to travel and have proof of full immunization will deemed fully immunized.

The immunization passport will be used to identify persons who have fully immunized, including those with a past positive test.
