A variety of demonstrators vocalized their discontent by chanting “no rape culture,” aiming to take their grievances onto the spotlighted backdrop of the red carpet before being ushered away from the vicinity of the grand event.
This incarnation of the illustrious Venice Film Festival courted controversy, as it included new works from directors Woody Allen, Luc Besson, and Roman Polanski – figures at the center of the well-publicized MeToo scandals.
