Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are set to arrive in Colombia on Thursday at the invitation of Vice President Francia Márquez. The Colombian vice president’s office announced Wednesday that the royal couple will take part in several events, including a forum against cyberbullying.

Marking their first visit to the South American country, Harry and Meghan will spend Thursday and Friday in Bogotá before heading to Cartagena and Cali over the weekend. The events will commence with a press conference by Márquez, who is Colombia’s first Black vice president. She is expected to provide more details regarding the purpose of Harry and Meghan’s visit. The official statement did not confirm whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will make their own statements.

As part of their itinerary, the couple will visit a school in Bogotá to “interact directly with students who are exploring the digital landscape and its effects on society,” the statement mentioned. They will also be present at a forum focused on promoting safe digital environments. This event is organized in collaboration between Colombia’s vice presidency and Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation, a nonprofit organization.

According to the statement, “The forum will address the urgent need for responsible technological practices, particularly in the Global South, where the negative impact of technology is disproportionately felt.”

Further details regarding the agenda for Saturday and Sunday are expected to be released later, as noted by the office of the vice president.
