Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are set to arrive in Colombia on Thursday, invited by Vice President Francia Márquez, to engage in a series of events, including a forum addressing cyberbullying, according to the office of the Colombian vice president.
The couple’s first visit to the South American nation will commence with multiple engagements on Thursday and Friday in Bogotá. They will then head to Cartagena and Cali, located in the Caribbean and the Colombian Pacific, where their presence is anticipated over the weekend.
The visit will be launched with a press conference by Márquez, Colombia’s first Black vice president, who is expected to elucidate the specifics of Harry and Meghan’s agenda. It remains uncertain if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will deliver any remarks during the visit.
Harry and Meghan are scheduled to visit a school in Bogotá to “interact directly with students who are exploring the digital landscape and its effects on society,” according to the statement.
Additionally, they will participate in a forum on promoting safe digital environments. This event is organized by Colombia’s vice presidency in collaboration with the Archewell Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Harry and Meghan.
“The forum will address the urgent need for responsible technological practices, particularly in the Global South, where the negative impact of technology is disproportionately felt,” the statement elaborated.
Further details on the couple’s agenda for Saturday and Sunday will be disclosed at a later date, as indicated by the office of the vice president.
