The Powerball jackpot has soared to an impressive $174 million for Monday’s drawing, following an unsuccesful attempt to secure the top prize on Monday night.
If a lucky individual wins Monday’s jackpot, they could opt for a lump-sum payment of $86.6 million, according to lottery estimates. The winning numbers were drawn just after 11 p.m. ET on Monday.
For the Monday, Aug. 5, Powerball drawing, the winning numbers are: 29, 42, 44, 51, 54, with the Powerball number being 12, and a Powerplay multiplier of 2X.
We will update the list of winners for Monday’s Powerball as soon as the information becomes available. For a complete list of previous winners, you can visit the lottery’s official website.
To play the Powerball, a $2 ticket can be purchased at various locations, including convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, and in some states, online. Players are required to pick six numbers in total: five white balls numbered 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number ranging between 1 and 26.
To enhance your chances of winning, a “Power Play” can be added for an extra $1, which increases the payouts for all non-jackpot prizes. This additional feature can multiply winnings by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or even 10X. Additionally, players have the option to request a “Quick Pick,” in which a cashier provides computer-generated numbers printed on a ticket.
Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights. If there is no jackpot winner, the cash prize will roll over and increase by millions.
For those interested in purchasing tickets, they are available at gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, and even some airport terminals. Tickets can also be ordered online through Jackpocket, the official digital lottery courier of the USA TODAY Network, in various U.S. states and territories. The Jackpocket app allows players to pick their lottery game and numbers, place their order, view their ticket, and collect their winnings all from a mobile device or computer.
