Montreal’s police instituted measures to ensure Montrealers follow public health guidelines on social distancing this March Break.
Consequently, those planning to go out and enjoy the pleasant warmth may notice a heavy police presence.
The SPVM’s spokesperson said they had deployed extra units whose essential task is to enforce social distancing rules. This operation is expected to continue through to the end of the March break.
The police will be deployed in areas where health officials expect that people are very likely to social presence.
Authorities have not published the number of tickets they issued over the weekend. However, it is expected the information will be available on Monday.
