Police arrested 6 persons and unearthed a number of firearms, controlled substances, and cash in thousands after 11 searches across south Quebec Wednesday.
This comes after a series of gun related crimes in the Montréal area. The police searches were part of investigations, that started in 2020, into arms trafficking northeast Montreal.
In just 24 hours, police wee able to confiscate 6 firearms, high-capacity magazines, ammunitions, over 30 gm of cocaine, hashish, $3000 in cash and a number of tablets that are yet to be analyzed.
The search was done in 6 vehicles and 5 homes in within Montreal, Mirabel, Drummondville and Terrebonne.
The six who were arrested will be arraigned at the Montreal court house.
