Construction of a new accessible chalet

As part of the revitalization of Grande-Anse Park, the current chalet will be replaced by a new one and will include completely accessible facilities that are adapted to the needs of park visitors, pleasure boaters, day camp groups and members of community associations.

“The work to revitalize Grande-Anse Park is intended to provide better access to nautical activities. Over 4,000 users already take advantage of these facilities every summer. The scheduled work will allow us to maintain and improve the services we offer near Lake Saint-Louis for everyone,” mentioned Mayor John Belvedere.

In order for work to begin in September, the required professional studies and preliminary processes for the demolition work will take place a few weeks beforehand. To ensure everyone’s health and safety and to maintain summer activities, three temporary buildings, including a comfort station, will be installed in May at Grande-Anse Park.

Built over fifty years ago, the current building would have required major renovations in order to be upgraded and to accommodate the growing number of activities.

“The new chalet will be built so as to preserve the view of Lake Saint-Louis. With the work scheduled to begin in September, everyone can safely enjoy the park, the waterfront, and the docks all summer long,” said Mayor Belvedere in conclusion.

This project is part of the action plan to revitalize Grande-Anse Park, which began in 2016 with the centralization of activities at the City’s sailing base and the demolition of the obsolete shed in order to provide a wider view of Lake Saint-Louis.
