Borough Mayor Dimitrios (Jim) Beis officially launched the Borough’s Facebook page at the August 7th Council meeting. In addition to providing greater presence on social media, this new channel of communication will help the Borough quickly inform its residents about various topics: events, news, notices to residents, street closures, etc. This platform will further enable exchanges and discussions between the Borough and its residents.
With social media a part of the everyday lives of a very large percentage of the population, the Borough wants to invest more of its efforts in this means of communication. After opening a Twitter account a few years ago, the Borough is now launching its Facebook page, the platform most visited by social media users.
“We are always looking for new ways to inform our residents well, to find out what their concerns and needs are. During the floods, we launched a Facebook page that enabled us to quickly reach the residents concerned. So I’m pleased to announce that this page is becoming permanent starting today. I encourage you to go to our page, click on “Like” and share the news,” stated Dimitrios (Jim) Beis, Mayor of the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro and Ville de Montréal Executive Committee member in charge of procurement, sports and leisure and communities of diverse origins.
The page will be manned during office hours, Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4:45 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. – noon, except on holidays.
