Montrealers who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and feel they don’t have to wait for an appointment may as well head to downtown Montreal on Thursday to try their luck.
CIUSSS du Center-Sud-I’lle-de-Montreal announced that they would start offering walk-ins vaccinations at the Palais de Congres starting on Thursday. The regional health authority hopes to lure more young people who are currently eligible.
The Thursday walk-ins vaccination will include a surprise guest according to CIUSSS. The mystery guest hasn’t been revealed but is a musician. The musician is expected to arrive at the site between 9 to 10 a.m. and interact with young and old alike.
CIUSSS further revealed that it would be setting hundreds of doses every day for walk-ins. Though walk-ins vaccines are still available, the regional health authority says that booking appointments through the Clic Sante website are still preferable.
On Tuesday, Quebec lowered the vaccination age limit to 25 and above. Starting on Friday, all Quebecers aged 18 and over will be officially eligible to book an appointment.
