Newly resurfaced footage of Resorts World headliner Kevin Hart hosting a long-forgotten party thrown by Sean “Diddy” Combs at a New York hotel has gone viral over something that Diddy almost said about Usher, one of the party’s guests.
The hip-hop mogul appears in a still from an apology video he posted to his Instagram account after footage leaked in May 2024 of him beating ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The rap music mogul’s account has since been wiped of all posts.
The hip-hop mogul was arrested and slapped with a bombshell three-count indictment on Sept. 16. The charges include racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In the resurfaced video, Diddy introduces Usher by saying, with his arm around him, “We used to wake up in… I mean… damn… PAUSE!”
But there was no pausing because the video was being live-streamed from the London Hotel in Manhattan to tens of thousands of people in 2010.
As Hart laughs from embarrassment at the faux pas, Diddy then corrects himself by telling an obviously manufactured story about fighting over the Frosted Flakes with Usher and his older brother.
Usher, who just wrapped a residency at the Park MGM last December, reportedly lived with Diddy in New York for a year when he was 13. He was sent there by record mogul LA Reid, who signed Usher to his first record contract.
Years later, when asked if he would send his own child to what was jokingly called “Puffy Camp,” Usher responded, “Hell no!”
In another scene from the resurfaced video, Hart shows grave concern about associating too closely with Diddy.
“Let’s just put the camera a little this way,” he says, directing it to the right. “I don’t want my shot to even come close to the bed. At all.”
The video was posted to YouTube 10 years ago by a user going by the name Moufrad Chowdhury, and received most of its 249,000 views in recent weeks.
Hart was confronted about the party by a rudely flippant “Entertainment Tonight” reporter on Wednesday as he entered a West Hollywood restaurant.
“When you hosted for Diddy, did you catch any baby oil?” the reporter asked, nervously laughing at his own words.
Hart responded: “You asking the wrong person the wrong question, man. It’s not a good question.”
He’s right, it wasn’t.
No celebrities have so far been accused of any wrongdoing in association with the case against Diddy. According to several eyewitnesses, things didn’t usually get illegal until the celebrities cleared out, leaving Diddy and his trusted friends alone with many of the people who now claim they were sexually assaulted.
However, attorney Tony Buzbee did state on Wednesday that the names of some of the witnesses of the illegal “freak-out” sex events “are names that will shock you.” So stay tuned.
Buzbee represents 120 new sexual-assault accusers in a lawsuit he announced against Diddy yesterday, including one who was a 9-year-old boy at the time.
