Patricia “Patty” Warden, an Ottawa resident, captured the attention of many when she took home the colossal $70 million Lotto Max jackpot on May 31. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) confirmed this groundbreaking win last Friday during a ceremony where Warden was presented with her jaw-dropping prize.

In a historic draw, the record-breaking Lotto Max jackpot of $80 million was split evenly between two winning tickets, one sold in Ontario and the other in Quebec. Each fortunate ticket holder took home a staggering $40 million. Tuesday night’s draw illuminated the luck of two winners: one from Grey County, Ontario, and another from Quebec.

According to OLG’s website, the winning numbers for this life-altering draw were 02, 04, 11, 16, 25, 29, 47, with a bonus number of 34. The draw also yielded a significant number of maxmillion prizes, reaching a total of 24 due to the volume of ticket sales. Four of these maxmillions were won in Ontario, with winning tickets sold in Guelph, Whitby, Toronto, and an additional one purchased through OLG.ca.

Adding to the flurry of winnings, an Encore prize worth $1 million was claimed in the Greater Sudbury Area, while two other Encore tickets each worth $100,000 were sold in Toronto and on OLG.ca. Additionally, a Lotto Max Second Prize ticket valued at $293,334.10 was sold in Peterborough County.

The excitement continues to build as the upcoming Friday draw for the Lotto Max jackpot brims with anticipation, featuring a new prize pool worth $22 million.

Earlier in the week, the OLG also unveiled another lucky winner – a couple from Iroquois Falls, Ontario, who won a $70 million Lotto Max jackpot from the August 20 draw. The couple, who had just returned from a Toronto hospital with their newborn, discovered their newfound fortune when Kyle Murray, 39, scanned his first-ever lottery ticket purchased at an Esso station on Algonquin Boulevard in Timmins, Ontario. The distinctive ‘Winner/Gagnant’ sound from the OLG app confirmed their life-changing win, wrapping their journey in an incredible twist of fate.
