An Ottawa woman has struck gold, winning a staggering $70 million Lotto Max jackpot, as announced by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). The life-altering ticket was sold in northern Ontario, specifically in the Timiskaming-Cochrane area.

Residents and visitors who purchased a Lotto Max ticket for the draw on August 20, 2024, are urged to check their numbers, as they might be holding the lucky ticket. The winning numbers for this monumental draw were 02, 11, 12, 21, 24, 38, 39, and the bonus number was 33.

This win represents the fifth Lotto Max jackpot claimed in Ontario since April. The lucky Ottawa resident joins a growing list of winners, underscoring a streak of good fortune for the province’s lottery participants.

In addition to the grand prize, there were 14 other fortunate winners for the Maxmillions prizes, seven of whom are in Ontario. The million-dollar tickets were claimed in cities including Peterborough, Ottawa, Mississauga, and Toronto, along with two tickets purchased on OLG’s website. Another Maxmillions ticket, worth $333,333.40, was sold in Toronto and shared with two other tickets bought in Western Canada.

Ontario also saw three Encore tickets, each valued at $1 million, sold in Unionville, Kingston, and Ottawa.
