One Canadian lottery player is on the verge of an incredible windfall after the latest Lotto Max draw.
The draw, which took place on Friday, September 27, offered a staggering jackpot of $32,192,529.30. The winning numbers for the draw were 04, 06, 08, 16, 21, 36, 50, with a bonus number of 09. While nobody managed to match all seven winning numbers, one fortunate individual did match six of those numbers plus the bonus number, securing a substantial second-place prize. PlayNow has confirmed that this lucky player, who bought their ticket in Ontario, will soon be collecting a hefty $193,048.80.
In addition to the second-place winner, forty-one other lottery players will also be celebrating. These players each secured the third-place prize, with each one taking home $4,708.50.
Meanwhile, the Lotto Max Extra draw yielded no winners for its top prize of $500,000. The numbers drawn were 18, 19, 27, and 45. Similarly, the Encore draw also failed to produce a big winner, despite the winning number being 1057066, which would have netted someone $1 million.
This recent flurry of lottery activity comes on the heels of an even bigger win earlier in the month. On September 17, the Lotto Max jackpot, an impressive $80 million, was split between two winners. One of the winners, Quebec resident Bernard Morissette, bought his lucky ticket online mere hours before the draw. The day after the draw, Morissette received a call from a Loto-Québec employee delivering the life-altering news. He immediately shared the incredible moment with his wife, exclaiming, “Rachel! We won $40 million!”
Morissette was then advised to verify the information in his online account and was subsequently invited to the Loto-Québec head office to complete the process.
The excitement is far from over; the next Lotto Max draw is set for Tuesday, October 1, with a new jackpot of $40 million up for grabs.
