Regarding the Conception Bay case, the Department of Health stated that they have been working closely with the Public Health Agency of Canada and Eastern Health, helping the ship crew during the isolation.

“There is no risk to the community. The ship and crew are following public health orders as directed by the Public Health Agency of Canada,” the department’s statement read.

A similar incident occurred in May. At that time, the Federal Montreal cargo ship was anchored in Conception Bay while much of the crew was infected with COVID-19. And just like then, the officials were helping the crew with the isolation.
