November 25th Marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

November and December are important months for raising awareness about gender-based violence in Canada and around the world.

November 25th marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the first day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. It is a time to remember victims, and it is also a time to take action. It is an opportunity to consider the women and girls for whom violence is a daily reality, and to remember those who have died as a result of gender-based violence. Finally, it is a day on which communities can consider concrete actions to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls.

The Member of Parliament for Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Peter Schiefke, is inviting members of the community to learn more about Hébergement La Passerelle, a shelter situated in Vaudreuil-Soulanges that provides services and support to women and their children fleeing violence at home.

Mr. Schiefke and his team will be marking November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, by collecting new items to be donated to the shelter. Between now and November 24th, please drop off any donations of the items listed below (NEW products only) at the constituency office located at 223 av Saint-Charles in Vaudreuil-Dorion during office hours.
