No Confirmed Date for the Reopening of Niagara Casinos one Year after their Closure

Tuesday marked the first anniversary since the closure of the Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara in Ontario. Now, the two casinos have spent over $ 1 million in the reopening preparations.

Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati is requesting the province to reconsider the 50 person limit for casinos, urging that a certain percentage of clients are better. However, the political officials in the province have argued that the reopening of the two casinos is not worthy.

The two casinos can hold a maximum of 11, 000 people at a time while allowing 50 people in a casino at a time. According to Richard Taylor, the president of Niagara Casinos, the two casinos do not have any confirmed date of reopening.

Taylor added that the 50 person limit and the notable game does not support the long-term sustainability of the business. The Fallsview Casino Resort has over 200, 000 square feet gaming floor, while Niagara Fall casino has 95, 000 feet’s space. Taylor also insisted that the casinos are ready to follow all health and safety protocols, which are based on science to ensure that their customers are safe.

Diodati also confirmed that the casinos have impressive safety measures after visiting the facilities. Dr. Mustafa Hirji, the Niagara’s acting medical officer of health also noted that the decision of deciding whether the casinos can reopen with greater capacity could only be made by the provincial government.
