As part of the City of Dorval’s Novartis Concerts, the group
Misses Satchmo will present it new show on June 12, at 7:30 p.m., at Pine Beach Park.
Misses Satchmo will proudly present its third opus entitled “Is That All There Is”. It features carefully selected songs that characterize New Orleans and African American jazz culture, in which you will recognize this unique way of storytelling designed to enchant and capture your heart.
“Is That All There Is” returns to a musical tradition that carries a great, painful, and beautiful story. Misses Satchmo possesses the heart and the charisma that characterized the great ones of the early jazz period.
The group remains faithful to this musical tradition, while innovating with careful and audacious arrangements. Misses Satchmo presents this fascinating repertoire with a well-defined musical personality, developed, and refined through seven years of performances. “Is That All There Is” marks one more step in the group’s career with the refreshing sound that the new musicians offer.
In case of bad weather, the concert will be held at the Serge Nolet Auditorium (1301 Dawson Avenue), in Dorval. This free musical show is presented by the City of Dorval, in cooperation with Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
