New Brunswick has reported that it has been 6 days since the last COVID-19 case was reported in the province. Also, 50% of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated, and with this milestone reached, the province has managed to fulfill its long-term goal.
Public Health has stated that 50.4 percent of eligible people in the province have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. On Saturday, New Brunswick administered 8,977-second doses, reaching the 50 percent mark. That also means that 349,560 people now have two vaccines doses.
The province’s ultimate goal is to have 75 percent of eligible New Brunswickers fully vaccinated by Aug. 2. If New Brunswick manages to do that, it will rescind its mandatory COVID-19 order. For now, 79.5 percent of eligible New Brunswickers have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This means that 551,201 people in the province have received the first dose.
On Sunday, Public Health Canada has reported that in the last six days, no new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the province.
