Next month, we can look forward to an exciting new sporting event as Netflix is set to host a golf tournament in conjunction with the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The competition, baptized as “The Netflix Cup”, promises a thrilling face-off between Formula 1 racers and PGA professionals. The Wynn Golf Club, steps away from the inaugural Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, has been selected to host the tournament on November 14.
This contest will feature a matchup between Las Vegas Grand Prix drivers and PGA pros, live-streamed on Netflix for sports fans around the globe. The logistics? Four teams, each comprising of one F1 racer and one PGA pro, will compete in an eight-hole match. Out of these, only the top two teams will have the chance to test their skills on the final hole for the championship bragging rights.
Thus far, the roster of F1 racers includes renowned names such as Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris, and Carlos Sainz. Matching their competitive prowess will be PGA mainstays Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, and Justin Thomas. The golfing community can expect some of your favorites, a number of whom have previously been featured in Netflix series “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” and “Full Swing.”, to join this expanding list.
As per Steve Weitman, President of Wynn Las Vegas, The Netflix Cup will surely be an “incredible addition to the storied history of the course, showcasing a tremendous roster of talent, on the only golf course on the Las Vegas Strip.”
