RCMP on Vancouver Island are conducting an investigation after a man was discovered with gunshot wounds in a crashed vehicle early Monday morning. The incident took place on Kangaroo Road, between Sooke Road and Lindholm Road in Metchosin. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 3 a.m. to find a white 2002 Hyundai Accent in a ditch, with a 40-year-old man inside. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital with critical gunshot injuries. Authorities suspect the man was shot at a different location before driving himself to where the crash occurred. Police are urging anyone who captured video footage in the area between midnight and 4 a.m. to review their recordings for potential evidence. Witnesses and individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
