A woman in northeastern British Columbia was apprehended after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a “ghost gun” in her car. The incident occurred in Fort St. John when a BC Highway Patrol officer pulled over a 39-year-old woman on December 13th to check for impaired driving. Although the woman was not under the influence, she was unable to recall her own name, prompting a search of her vehicle.
During the search, officers found an illegal “ghost gun,” a privately assembled firearm that lacks serial numbers, making it untraceable. In addition to the firearm, police uncovered pepper spray, suspected illicit drugs, and nearly $2,000 in cash. The woman was subsequently arrested and has since been released, with charges pending further investigation.
