Police in Whangārei are seeking witnesses following a suspicious fire at a residential property on January 2. Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer reported that a vehicle was discovered ablaze on the front lawn of a house on Kiripaka Road at approximately 5:30 a.m. A passer-by alerted residents and assisted in moving another car to prevent it from catching fire. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact police by calling 105 and referencing file number 250102/5758.
