Mysterious Fire Erupts in Northland: What Kept Firefighters on Edge Overnight?

Firefighters have successfully contained a significant scrub fire in Northland that erupted Friday afternoon. The blaze, which ignited near Hutchinson Road by Pataua South shortly after 2pm, engulfed approximately three hectares of bush and pine tree slash. Fire and Emergency New Zealand confirmed that the fire has been contained, but a team will stay on-site overnight to monitor the situation. An additional three crews are scheduled to return on Saturday to assist in further efforts. Initially, the scene drew the response of three helicopters and four fire trucks.
