A significant power outage affected approximately 1,200 properties in the areas surrounding Albert Town and Lake Hawea near Wānaka earlier this morning. As of 11 a.m., around 410 homes remained without electricity after the loss at about 6 a.m. Aurora Energy, responsible for the electricity supply, has not yet determined the cause of the outage but aims to restore power to all affected homes by 12:30 p.m.
