All winter long, children aged 5 to 8 will be able to have lots of fun while learning how to snowboard for free in Centennial Park in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. This initiative of the Association des stations de ski du Québec (ASSQ—Quebec Ski Area Association), adored by children and parents alike, is offered every Saturday and Sunday until March 12.

Guided by dynamic instructors, children will learn how to snowboard step by step in an environment specifically designed for learning. The accessories and colourful décor will pique their curiosity and create a pleasant atmosphere. In addition, parents will be able to see the pride and smiles on their children’s faces. During this initiation of about one hour, all equipment, including the helmet, is provided.

Continuing the Initiation on a Mountain

The initiation can continue on the slopes. With their My Snow Experience initiation, children will receive a My Snow Experience initiation package for free. With this package, children will have the opportunity to take a skiing or snowboarding initiation course directly on a mountain. Guided by qualified instructors, they will discover the pleasure of skiing or snowboarding on a real mountain. With the activation code indicated on the ski ticket you receive during the initiation, you will be able to make your reservation online with a participating ski area.

February 12: Free Mountain Initiation Day

The ASSQ also offers a free initiation day at a ski area for children aged 5 to 8. Over 40 ski areas participate in this day where future skiers and snowboarders discover the joys of these sports. The initiation includes a lesson of about one hour under the supervision of qualified instructors and with equipment, including the helmet. You can find all the details and register your child online, which is mandatory, at www.initiation.maneige.ski.
