Montreal Police are treating an altercation incident targeting Jewish people as a possible hate crime. Constable Jean-Pierre Brabant says that the police responded to a call in Cote Saint-Luc at around 6:35 p.m. on Monday to a report of people making verbal threats.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Kildare Road and Westminster Avenue. The people involved included 19 and 20-year-old men, who were reportedly arrested and awaiting to be charged.
Residents of the area are alerted to experience police presence as they try to gather evidence. Brabant promised Cote Saint-Luc a greater patrol that could start on Monday evening and continue into Tuesday.
