Fans eager for the highly anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul on November 15 have an intriguing preview to look forward to tonight. In Las Vegas, a smaller-scale version of this much-talked-about bout will be featured, showcasing “mini Jake Paul” versus “mini Mike Tyson.”
The Nerd Bar in downtown Las Vegas will be transformed into “Micro Square Garden” to host the event, with the action kicking off at 9 p.m. This unique spectacle is part of the MicroMania Tour, a comedy troupe that stages spoof fights involving little people impersonating famous wrestlers and boxers, referred to as “micro-athletes.” A typical show from the MicroMania Tour features two singles matches and culminates in a Main Event Battle Royale.
According to the troupe’s promotional material, mini Tyson and mini Paul “may be short in stature but are giants in the world of entertainment.” The comedic undertone and impressive impersonations promise a night of memorable entertainment.
In the larger boxing world, the match between the actual Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year. Although it is a non-title fight, fans are excited to see Tyson — who was one of the most formidable boxers during his ’90s peak — step back into the ring at 58 years old. Tyson last fought professionally in 2005 but returned for an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which concluded in a split draw.
Despite the buzz, the Tyson-Paul bout has yet to sell out all 80,000 seats at Arlington, Texas’s AT&T Stadium, with tens of thousands of tickets still available less than a week before the event. This might be attributed to the fact that the bout will be streamed live on Netflix, accessible to anyone with a standard subscription.
Vegas oddsmakers currently list the real Jake Paul, 27, as the favorite with odds of -270, while Tyson is considered the underdog at +210. However, no bets are being taken on their miniature counterparts in tonight’s comedic reenactment.
