Owners, Gail and Fred Cassir, of six West Island McDonalds restaurants will be donating their McHappy Day proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the West Island today.
“We are so grateful to the McDonald’s Restaurants of the West Island for donating the proceeds of McHappy Day to Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Island.” BBBSWI executive director Francesca Corso told The suburban. “This incredibly generous gift means that we will be able to provide 10,000 mentoring hours to West Island youth over the next year. On behalf of these kids and families thank you McDonalds and all those who come out to participate today.”
According to Gail Cassir, owner-operator of the six West Island McDonald locations, $1 from the sale of every Big Mac, Double Big Mac, Happy Meal, muffins and coffee will go directly to BBBS.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters offers a wide range of mentoring opportunities,” Corso explained, “serving as role models, our mentors teach by example the importance of giving and giving back, of staying in school, and for having respect for family, peers and community.”
