Exchanging his iconic Captain America shield for a symbol of love, Marvel actor Chris Evans proudly sported a wedding band during his recent appearance at New York Comic-Con. In front of an eagerly awaiting audience, he joyously confirmed his recent marriage to actress Alba Baptista.

“I got married,” confessed the Marvel superstar, describing the experience of his recent wedding as “really, really great.”

Evans and Baptista celebrated their love not once, but twice, holding two distinct ceremonies. One took place in Portugal, reflecting Baptista’s homeland, and another on the East Coast. The second event, as reports suggest, occurred last month in the picturesque setting of Cape Cod.

Speking warmly of the wonderful and beautiful dual ceremonies, Evans mentioned that since their nuptials, he and his wife have spent their time in a state of relaxation; simply enjoying life and reflecting on their new journey together as a married couple.

In a candid moment, the star admitted feeling the substantial responsibility of planning a wedding. Humorously noting, “It’s a lot.”, Evans expressed solidarity with anyone who has tied the knot. “It takes a lot out of you but now that we’re through that, we’ve kind of just been enjoying life,” he echoed.

Aside from their recent wedding, Evans and Baptista have been romantically involved since 2021.

In the realm of his professional life, Evans’ appearance at the NYCC comes in the wake of stalled contract negotiations among SAG-AFTRA, major studios, and streaming platforms due to an ongoing strike. This strike, which began in July, has been supported by the union representing actors and performers.

However, there is a hint of resolution as Hollywood writers under the Writers Guild of America, who have been on strike since May, have reached an agreement on a new contract with the studios and streamers last September. The newly ratified contract has resulted in thousands of workers returning to active duty last week.
