Police sources say the man who was shot dead in a Pierrefonds parking lot outside the gym where he regularly works out, on Monday morning was Andrea Scoppa. It is claimed that he may have had ties with Montreal Mafia. Scoppa was the brother of Salvatore Scoppa, who was killed in Laval in May. Police believe that the murder was in related to four previous deaths tied to Montreal mafia.
The 55-year-old man was shot in a parking lot on Boulevard Saint-Jean, facing a gymnasium where he was likely to train at approximately 8:00 am.
A suspect was observed running away.
Police are investigating.
