
Tragedy struck on a quiet Friday afternoon in Port Alberni when a man’s life was abruptly cut short by a stabbing incident. The deadly episode took place in an apartment complex situated on the 5100 block of Argyle Street, as confirmed by Port Alberni’s Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in a statement released on Saturday.
Emergency response teams rushed to the site where they discovered a man grappling with severe injuries. Despite being swiftly transported to the hospital for urgent medical treatment, the individual succumbed to his injuries, according to police reports.
Investigators, having conversed with a number of eyewitnesses at the scene, have identified a male suspect. The RCMP, armed with this information, is now on the hunt, actively pursuing the suspect’s arrest.
Although the suspect remains at large, the police have reassured the public, stating there’s no cause for concern in terms of public safety. They’ve described the incident as isolated, mentioning that those involved are acquainted. The police also shared that the Major Crime Unit of the Port Alberni RCMP is now leading the investigation into this unfortunate incident.
