Love is Love

The other morning I crawled out of bed, not wanting to move.  As soon as I opened my eyes my darling dog was looking at me.  He needed to be fed and walked and I’m the one who does this.  My body was aching from the previous day of cross-country skiing.  I just wanted to stay in bed and let the aches dissipate on their own.  I really didn’t want to move. I really didn’t want to go outside!

My dog was making noises pressuring me to feed and walk him.  So, I dragged my lazy ass out of bed and took care of his needs.  It snowed overnight, so I was bundled up in my winter coat, boots, hat, gloves and scarf.  Even my eyes were covered with sunglasses.  I kept on thinking about the 1980’s Dunkin Donuts commercial, “It’s time to make the donuts”.  That’s how I felt.

As I was walking down my driveway I noticed an unusual pattern in the snow.  Although the design was created by tire tracks, it astounded me!  Two hearts were side by side facing me.  See the attached picture. Quickly, I took out my cell phone and photographed it.  I’m sure the design wasn’t going to last long.  The snow plow or anyone driving along my driveway was unknowingly going to destroy it.

After I photographed the image, I just stood there and looked at it.  I tried to figure out how a car is able to make these tracks.  I tried to figure out in what direction a car has to travel in order to create this design.  The logic of how to create these tracks didn’t astound me as much as my questions of, “Why now? Why me? By whom?”

I felt this design was a message.  Someone sent me a divine message of love. I am a true believer that ‘love is love’.  It doesn’t matter who or what shares it, it’s genuine and beautiful.  I love to be loved and I love to share love.  If more people in the world had the opportunity to share love and be loved, there would be so much less hate.  Haters don’t understand the true value of love.  In life, love is all you need.

The Beatles sung it best in their song, All You Need is Love.

Love, love, love

There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung
Nothing you can say, but you can learn how to play the game
It’s easy
Nothing you can make that can’t be made
No one you can save that can’t be saved
Nothing you can do, but you can learn how to be you in time
It’s easy

All you need is love, all you need is love
All you need is love, love, love is all you need

After I fed and walked my dog, I looked at the twin heart design from my window.  I watched it until it was swiped away by the snow plow.  It was gone, but the message remained.  Someone sent me love.  The more logical thought would be that a car backed into my driveway, made the heart design.  ‘Really Sue, it’s no divine sign, it’s just tire marks that look like hearts’.  That would make perfect sense.  But… that’s not how I think.  I believe it was divine love sent to me from someone who loves me.  My sister thinks it’s a sign of love from our late father.  I’d like to believe that’s true.

Whoever sent the message, IT HAS BEEN RECEIVED!  I felt the love.  Sometimes you don’t know how it happens, it just does.  You need to believe in the spirit of love as it is all around us.

As easy as it is to meet a random person and fall madly in love with them at first sight, the love spirit is all around us.  Sometimes you can look into a person’s eyes and feel their love.

I was sent love and now I send it to you!  Have you received it?

p.s. Had I not walked my dog at the time I did, I might have missed seeing the twin hearts.  I know it was definitely divine love!
