
Louisiana casinos’ wins in July this year exceed the same period during the pandemic last year. This year, Louisiana casinos won $222 million, a 20 percent increase from $177. Million in July 2020.
The July win also exceeds June’s $221. Million wins in June this year. In New Orleans, Harrah casino, three riverboats casinos, and horse track brought more than $55.1 million in revenue in July. That is equivalent to a 4 percent increase from a $35.7 million win in July 2020.
Eldorado Resort Casino on the Red River in Shreveport won $11.3 million in July, representing a 101.2 percent increase from $5. Million in the same month last year.
Belle of Baton Rouge riverboat casino is the only gaming property in Mississippi that reported a decline in July. The riverboat casino near downtown Baton Rouge reports a 2.3 percent decline from last year’s win in the same month.
Several riverboats casinos are now being transformed into a land-based resorts. The Horseshoe Casino on Lake Charles is scheduled to open next year as a land-based resort. Hollywood Casino in Baton Rouge is scheduled to move ashore by the end of next year.
