Lightning strike caused the fires that burnt to a number of homes on a street in Laval Tuesday evening, fire department says.
The fire department in Laval received several emergency calls at around 6:15 in the evening, reporting a fire that had broken and spread to a number of homes along Sydney Street.
Upon reaching the scene, two homes were already burning and the fire was spreading to neighboring homes.
Patrik Ferland of the Laval fire department stated that they believe a lightning strike in the last thunderstorm struck an electricity pole causing the fire that spread to a home then to the neighboring one. It took a total of two hours for to contain the fire.
It is estimated that the fire caused a $700000 in damages. No one was injured in the fire.
