Frederic Beauchemin, the Liberal MNA representing Marguerite-Bourgeoys, staunchly refutes accusations of psychological harassment leveled against him and his staff. These allegations were purportedly raised by Elyse Moisan, the chief of the party’s youth commission.
In a recent social media post, Beauchemin dismissed the complaint as baseless. His public reaction followed a report by the Journal de Quebec, indicating that Moisan had experienced feelings of harassment, intimidation, and threat from the minister’s team.
Beauchemin declared, “The charges against me have no merit. A procedure is in place to investigate them properly and comprehend the circumstances behind the matter. I can assure you, we shall participate completely in this process. I am confident of a resolution that will clarify the situation accurately.”
Beauchemin perceives the ongoing scenario as a manifestation of the present crisis within the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP). He affirms that, similar to the rest of the party, the Youth Commission is stagnated by the lack of transparent direction. Beauchemin believes that the party’s activists yearn for rebuilding rather than disintegration.
At this point, Beauchemin remains the sole candidate expressing interest in the leadership of the PLQ.
Marc Tanguay, the interim leader of the PLQ, when asked to comment on the matter, stressed the significance of the allegations. However, he insisted on adhering to the investigative process and refraining from any further remarks at that time.
Charlie Bourdages, the press officer for the PLQ Youth Commission, also declined to comment further on the issue. She mentioned that Moisan would not be accessible for an interview.
