A virtual fun(d)-raising event to benefit the Sian Bradwell Fund for Children with Cancer
MONTREAL, July 9, 2020—You can have the best seat in your house by joining us on July 25 at 19h30 ET from your living room, cottage, deck, basement, kitchen or campsite to play Let’s Get Quizzical!—a fun, family-friendly trivia challenge.
Can you answer the following questions? Who said “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee?” Which country hosted the 2000 Olympic Games? Which city is Canada’s capital? If you answered: Muhammad Ali, Australia and Ottawa, you could be on your way to winning one of the night’s prizes. Think of the bragging rights, especially if you challenge friends located around the globe to a little competition.
The event combines entertainment and technology—you’ll be joining others in a Brady Bunch-style screen set up—you’ll need an Internet connection and a smartphone and tablet or computer screen with two open windows: one to host the secure videoconferencing platform and the other to serve as your answer pad. Both technologies accommodate iOs, Android and PC.
Based on post-event survey feedback, we’ll feature four rounds of 15 themed questions, ranging from pop culture to history to movies. Once the Let’s Get Quizzical! question has been read, participants select one of four possible answers to accumulate points based on a combination of speed and correct response.
While funds to purchase medical equipment for the Montreal Children’s Hospital Oncology department are traditionally raised at annual in-person events, the Sian Bradwell Fund Committee members pivoted quickly, to create this on-line event because the need to purchase medical equipment does not stand still.

In addition to the July 25 event, our next Let’s Get Quizzical! Trivia Night is scheduled on August 29 at 19h30 ET, followed by our September 26 Grand Finale. The cost to participate is $10; donations of $15 or more will receive a tax receipt.
