In an email sent to parent this morning, the Lester B. Pearson School Board shared the following:
“As promised, the Ministry of Education launched their educational website today for the province. The website is intended for parents who would like to help support the learning of their children during the shutdown.
Students and parents will find thousands of resources available to learn, create, have fun, and get moving. The activities suggested are varied and easy to carry out for students of all school levels. They will allow them to maintain their skills and stimulate learning as everyone can follow their own course in all subjects.
The Ministry will add new resources/activities regularly to increase the potential of learning on a daily basis. The Ministry has announced that activities for children with special needs will also be offered very soon. The Ministry has indicated they will add new resources/activities regularly to their website. We invite you to visit it often to keep your child engaged and interested in their learning.
To access the “Open School” website, simply visit: https://ecoleouverte.ca/en/. The site is available in both English and French. There is a menu option at the top of the page to access the resources in English (EN) or French (FR).We will also have it posted on our COVID-19 webpage.
Please note that the use of this website and the resources available, are voluntary. The Minister has reiterated on a number of occasions there will be no formal instruction or evaluation at this time. These resources and activities, which are not compulsory, are provided with the hope that they will help parents support their children in the pursuit of their educational and personal development.”…
