Lauri’s Boutique in Kirkland was busier than usual this past Saturday. Owner Elizabeth Kehoe held an afternoon cocktail to introduce Martina Buckenmaier of the exclusive clothing brand Riani to her devoted clients.
“We have been working with our Canadian team for 15 years,” said Buckenmaier. “This is my third visit to Canada. I am so happy to come here to see the women dressing in a fashionable way but more importantly in a comfortable way that makes them feel good about themselves. They can do business in their clothes and go out in them. It is a very fluid collection.”
Jürgen Buckenmaier laid the cornerstone for the RIANI success story in his hometown of Schorndorf in 1968, with his “Bucki” trousers, selling more than 100,000 pairs. He later road the wave of demand for ladies’ separates and today the brand is sold internationally.
“It is all about detail. Our prints are exclusive from Italy. They are created only for Riani,” Buckenmaier explained. ” We source our fabrics from Italy and France. Notions are from Japan. We source from the people that know what they are doing. We insist on suppliers who are socially conscious. It is essential to us.”
About empowering women
“We empower women through their clothing,” said retailer Kehoe. “I wear it, and I embrace it. It is one of the best lines out there. We do our best to make every woman feel beautiful and special.”
According to Buckenmaier the secret of Riani’s success is understanding all of our sophisticated customer’s needs, no matter her age.
“She is multi-talented and leads an independent life. She is inspired by RIANI’s premium quality and fits. She is confident and expresses her moods with her casual yet elegant sense of fashion and style!”
