Action Jeunesse de l’Ouest-de-l’Île (AJOI) and Ricochet are very proud to present the first Drop-In Shelter on the West Island of Montreal in Pierrefonds-Roxboro or Lachine. The Shelter will be open from December 1st 2020 to March 31st 2021, 7 days/week and from 11pm to 7am. It will welcome people who are homeless and experiencing residential instability during the winter months.
For several years now, the need for emergency accommodation has become alarming in Montreal’s West Island. We strongly believe that this Shelter could be a step towards short- term housing and that it could greatly help people in need. With winter just around the corner, the Shelter will allow citizens in need to keep warm during the cold weather.
The basics of the Drop-In Shelter
The Shelter will accommodate between 10 and 15 people every night for the four coldest months of the winter. Specifically, the stopover will provide a place to eat, drink, shower, rest and of course warm up. Two employees will always be on site in order to respond adequately to the targeted population and operate the AJOI-Mobile.

AJOI and Ricochet invite their partners and the community to share the information so that together we can help as many people as possible during this difficult period.
