La Fondue Du Prince

We seem to be on a Ste. Anne de Bellevue kick this month.  We were walking on the boardwalk and have been trying a few of the local restaurants.  La Fondue du Prince is now one of my favorites.  The menu from Sunday through Thursday is well priced at $21 per person for 4 courses.

The cheese fondue to start was served promptly and the rest of the courses were timed nicely so the meal lingered a little more than a regular restaurant.  I have not had cheese fondue very often so I have little to compare this to but I loved it.  I couldn’t stop myself which made finishing further courses more difficult.  I would take it easy on this course in the future.

A cute serving of Cesar salad followed.  I ate every bite.

I ordered a mix of beef and chicken for the fondue itself.  Susanne explained every course, how long to cook the meat for, not to bother with the flame because she was on that and if we wanted more sauces we were welcome to them.  It was excellent. I again did not leave one bite.

The final course was chocolate. I could barely eat another bite but managed to force myself to eat the bananas and blueberries dipped in chocolate.  I love a meal that ends with melted chocolate.

As for the service.  It took a little warming up as Susanne, our waitress/owner has a no nonsense personality.  I was a bit nervous as first, she was curt and it made me uncomfortable.  That being said we got on fine after a little while and actually were enjoying ourselves with some other patrons.  It seems it was a really small world and everyone knew everyone.   We spoke french for the most part.

As for most of the Ste. Anne’s restaurant experiences the decor is older but fine.

I will be going back for certain.  I enjoyed it very very much. Reservations recommended if  you want to sit on the terrace, if not there is plenty of room. La Fondue du Prince
