Nick Kyrgios is facing uncertainty regarding his participation in the Australian Open after withdrawing from a pre-tournament exhibition match against Novak Djokovic due to an abdominal strain. Announcing the news on Instagram, Kyrgios stated, “Unfortunately won’t be able to play my good friend [Novak Djokovic] this Thursday on the 9th as I’ve had an ultrasound on my abdominal and have a grade 1 strain.” The 29-year-old emphasized that he would rest and make every effort to be ready for the Australian Open. Recently, Kyrgios participated in the Brisbane International, competing in three matches, including two doubles alongside Djokovic, but was eliminated from the singles event by Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
